3rd & 4th year student – Bachelor in Geomatics (Eligible for WIL)

The successful candidate will apply all survey checks for quality assurance, quality control and present to the Senior Surveyor; Carry a variety of survey work such as control and staking of blast block patterns, staking of misfires, staking of lost steel, delineating composites and staking of dumping limits; Do precise levelling runs and beacon network surveys; Make accurate and timeous information available to stakeholders; Compliance with company standards, practices and procedures; Ensure compliance to the survey code of practices and the relevant SOPs at all times; Do accurate reduction and apply alternative checking methods.

The successful candidate must have good communication skills (spoken and written English), have self-discipline and problem-solving skills; be technologically oriented with the ability to work independently; display teamwork; able to plan and prioritise activities, maintain a high standard of confidentiality; trustworthy and helpful, good time management, friendly and presentable; display self-management; proficient in the use of survey computer software and operate a DGPS; have access to own accommodation.
