Educational Requirements

  • 3rd Year, Bachelor of Public Management, Communication, Informatics, Economics, Human Resources Management, Business Management, Entrepreneurship; Marketing, Tourism Management (eligible for WIL)
  • NUST students only

General WIL/Internship Description
Practera (a company that delivers technology-enabled experiential learning to prepare global learners for the future of work) has partnered with WACE to bring you a Global Challenge which is an interdisciplinary Student Collaborative Project. This is a 3-week virtual programme where teams of students from around the globe will work collaboratively to solve a real industry challenge for a Start up, SME Business or a Non-profit organisation. Successful candidates will take part in a shared value business strategy which aims to solve social issues and profitability, increased competitiveness and economic growth for the company and better economic & social conditions for the communities in which it operates.
 

Other Requirements
Successful candidates should have interests in global collaboration, intercultural communication, self-direction and an independent worker, a problem solver, willing to learn, pay attention to detail, flexibility to engage with people in different time zones, report writing, have secured internet connection, be pro-active and should be dedicated to completing the project. In addition, the successful candidates should have knowledge of the UN sustainable goals as interns should be able to demonstrate the following at the end of the project: an understanding of the UN sustainable goals; skills in problem identification; skills in solution implementation for the identified problem; ability to communicate and collaborate with team members across cultures and an understanding of how the skills developed during this project relate to personal, professional and academic goal attainment.
