US Embassy Internship

The Centre for Cooperative Education (CCE) placed Polytechnic students at US Embassy in Namibia

Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Polytechnic of Namibia and the US Embassy in Namibia, four Polytechnic students were placed within the US Embassy for the purpose of Work Integrated Learning.

The Centre for Cooperative Education played a major role in placing students, started from negotiating the MoA, and condition attached to this placement, given the fact that the Embassy is regarded as different country. The Embassy is committed to on-going support to the development of the Namibian skill force. Negotiations for 2013 intake are currently underway, where more Polytechnic students will be exposed to practical opportunities with the US Embassy.

The US Ambassador to Namibia Ms Wada Nesbit was present to welcome the students, while Mrs Angela Beukes the Human Resource Specialist provided orientation for students to familiarise them will various departments within the Agency, and to explain to them various functions of the Embassy in Namibia.

All students expressed their excitement and gratitude to be part of the programme, and promised to  their best during their internship period at the US Embassy.
