Southern African Society for Co-operative Education (SASCE)

The Southern African Society for Co-operative Education (SASCE) is a non-profit organisation that promotes the integration of academic studies with quality Work Integrated Learning. The success of cooperative education is that students are able to graduate with the competitive advantage of entering the world of work with employability skills and work experience related to their qualification disciplines. CEU through NUST has been a corporate member of the Southern African Society for Cooperative Education (SASCE) since April 2010. The benefit of being a member:

  • Participation in SASCE conferences and Symposiums at a discounted rates
  • Learn best practices and share Cooperative Education success, challenges and experiences
  • Network with experts in Cooperative Education and look into possible areas of collaboration between universities and industry
  • Platform were  government, industry, universities, students meet to deliberate issues concerning cooperative education

World Association for Cooperative Education (WACE)

The World Association for Cooperative Education (WACE) being established in 1979 and formalised in 1983. With its Secretariat on the campus of the University of Massachusetts Lowell in the United States, WACE strives to create, implement and maintain events, programmes and services geared to the support and expansion of the Global Industry and Institutional Partners network and the entire Cooperative & Work–Integrated Education (CWIE) community. WACE is the only international professional organization dedicated to developing, expanding, branding and advocating for cooperative & work-integrated education programs within industry and educational institutions. Cooperative & Work-Integrated Education (CWIE) is a term created by WACE to acknowledge and embrace all forms of experiential learning utilized by industry and educational institutions to prepare the next generation of global professionals. CWIE is an encompassing term that includes: cooperative education, internships, semester in industry, international co-op exchanges, study abroad, research, clinical rotations, service learning and community service. Institute for People Management (IPM)

The Namibia University of Science and Technology became a member of the Institute for People Management (IPM) at its launch at the Hilton Hotel in Windhoek recently.
