IN THE spirit of good corporate citizenship, organisations both in the public and private sectors in Namibia have an active role to play when it comes to work integrated learning (WIL) /internship initiatives by the local tertiary institutions.

La Trobe University defined work integrated learning as an umbrella term used to describe a range of approaches that integrate theory with the practice of work within a purposefully designed curriculum.

The Polytechnic of Namibia recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with highly experienced and long-established engineering service provider Kraatz Marine (Pty) Ltd. Kraatz Marine (Pty) Ltd was established over 60 years ago to offer specialised engineering services to various industry sectors including mining, petrochemical, and general industrial clients.

The Polytechnic of Namibia has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the umbrella network of Non-governmental Organisations (NGOs) in Namibia, NANGOF Trust in an effort to create opportunities for its students to acquire valuable educational experiences through community work. Founded in 1991 NANGOF focuses on Advocacy, Networking and Information and Capacity Building Programmes in support of its members.
